Privacy Policy

Legion Post Websites is a service of Howarth Tech Solutions ("we," "us"). We build and host websites for American Legion posts and, for posts that opt in, operate an SMS event-reminder program on their behalf. This policy explains what information we collect and how we use it, with particular attention to the SMS program.
Information we collect
- Contact details you or your post provide: your name and mobile phone number, and optionally an email address.
- SMS consent records: whether you have opted in, and the date and time you confirmed.
- Message logs: the reminders sent to you and your replies (for example YES or STOP), kept as a record of consent and delivery.
- Website analytics: standard, aggregate server logs for the public post websites. These do not identify you personally.
How we use it
- To send you the event and meeting reminders you opted in to receive from your American Legion post.
- To honor your requests — for example, to stop messaging you when you reply STOP.
- To maintain records of consent as required by law and carrier rules.
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not send marketing messages.
The SMS event-reminder program
You are added to a post's reminder list only after you ask that post to add you. You then receive one confirmation text and must reply YES before any reminders are sent. You can reply STOP at any time to cancel, or HELP for help. Message frequency varies (typically a few messages per month). Message and data rates may apply. See our SMS Terms & Conditions for the full program terms.
Sharing
We use Twilio, a messaging provider, solely to deliver the text messages you opted into; Twilio processes your number only for that purpose. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with any third party for their own marketing. We may disclose information if required by law.
Retention & your choices
You can opt out of texts at any time by replying STOP. You may ask your post, or us, to delete your contact information from the reminder list. We keep consent and message logs for a reasonable period to demonstrate compliance, then remove them.
